Understanding your needs
Dr Kimberly Pugh has been a chiropractor in Kerikeri since 2017, and has over 12 years of experience. At Breathe Chiropractic, we work with individuals and families to assist with wellness, helping to restore energy for a happy, fulfilling, active lifestyle.
Chiropractic treatments are gentle, safe and effective for all ages.
As your chiropractor in Kerikeri, we take a holistic view to our work: it’s all about understanding your problem and providing a tailored treatment.
At your first appointment, we will assess you through a mixture of muscle testing, functional orthopaedic tests, as well as checking your mobility to gauge issues and diagnose your condition.
This allows us to create a personalised treatment plan for you. The treatment plan outlines the techniques we will use, and how many sessions are likely to be needed to achieve your goals.

What kinds of techniques are used by the chiropractor in Kerikeri?
We draw on multiple therapies to provide a solution that’s just right for you. This may include:
Chiropractic adjustments:
This is a manual therapy to relieve pain or increase mobility. It’s also known as chiropractic manipulation.
Massage:
For relieving pain and discomfort. Chiropractic massage can assist in recovery, and help to maintain the adjustments for longer.
Stretches:
Targeted chiropractic stretching can help manage pain and discomfort, as well as increasing mobility.
Trigger point therapy:
This addresses muscle pains that may occur in myofascial trigger points, which are painful, tense areas found in muscles.
Traction therapy:
A manual stretching of the spine can help relieve back pain and neck pain, as the stretches relieve pressure on the discs.
Active Release Technique:
This therapy involves soft tissue stretching to break up scar tissue. It can also help prevent injuries and promote flexibility.
Shockwave therapy:
Low energy acoustic wave pulsations are effective for many types of acute and chronic pain and tendonitis. It’s also known as Acoustic Wave Therapy.
As your chiropractor in Kerikeri, it’s all about rehabilitating you in the most appropriate way possible.
Chiropractic ACC treatments
As a registered ACC provider, we’ll complete the paperwork for your claim with you at your appointment. Your treatment may be subsidised.
